I Love Techno 2011 is almost upon us. Just one small change to the programme: unfortunately, Fake Blood's new live production set is not going to be ready in time. However, he's still coming to I Love Techno to give us a storming DJ set. For production reasons this means there will have to be a change of rooms. Birdy Nam Nam and Fake Blood will be switching places. So Fake Blood will now be in the Blue Room and Birdy Nam Nam will be in the Yellow Room! For an updated running order, click here

- What are you doing at I love techno this year?

Basically doing what I do best, djing :)
This year I'll have some extra production around my set and I'll be playing lots of exclusive new tracks of my own!

- Who else on the line-up are you looking forward to seeing?

I'd like to check out Gesaffelstein Live, Canblaster and the Carl Craig's 69 thing. Also maybe Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, he's not really techno haha but I'd like to see him, I think he's pretty talented.

- What is your favourite techno track?

There are a lot of tracks I love the same so now I'd say Model 8"Lemon 8". It s a simple jacking 909 drum + 303acid and the good old siren sound!

- Do you sometimes just want be someone who is standing in the audience partying instead of playing on stage?

Haha yes, that's why I dance so much when I dj. That's the connection ;)

- What do you love about the I love techno festival? / How does it compare to other festivals?

When I think about ILT i remember myself looking at the flyer 10 years ago and thinking: 'this is the coolest festival, I wish I'd be djing there sometime.'

- Best I love techno memory?

It's got to be the first time I played 2006! I remember I was opening the room and when the doors opened at 8 o'clock, ravers were running into the hall like crazy. But the best thing was, although I only had release Vinyl only, people were shout along the bassline of my track "Volta82" and stuff. I've never experienced something like that before.

- What are your big tracks at the moment?

Right now I think it's the new release on M-Plant. It s called Floorplan "Baby Baby". It's a simple loop but the kik drum is so massive and it's so effective!
Also there are some big tracks like "Koko" from Jan Driver's new album.

- What else have you got going one? (releases etc)

I just singed a 17year old kid from Germany called SCNTST. His first ep will be out soon on Boysnoize rec and I've been working on a lot of new tracks, too. There is a Vinyl only release from right now with 2 simple techno tracks. I basicly played around with 2-3 machines and recorded the session and that's what you hear on the record. I don't want to release it digital as well because some might take the release as a serious BN release but they are just dj-tools. Also,  Mr.Oizo x BN, Erol Alkan X BN + Siriusmo X BN collabs will be out before I release my next album :)

- What is techno to you?

It's more an attitude then a sound. For me techno is like punk. Techno Djs & producers have this anti thinking because they do things against the mainstream and they way they think it's good.

As a DJ you dream to play in front of thousands of screaming fans, but sometimes the best opportunity to open doors is by playing right before the headliners.
Getting a crowd warmed up is the most underrated art of DJ’ing.

I Love Techno edition 16! In recent years I Love Techno has been joined by several successful festivals and events attaching great importance to electronic music. I Love Techno, the pioneer, remains a major player in Europe. This year 35,000 party people from all over the world are expected once again. This year the major party for fans of electronic music, in all its aspects, will take place in Flanders Expo in Ghent on Saturday November 12. A few weeks ago the first names were already announced. It is with some pride that we present the complete line-up today. It is dubstep’s turn this year to get extra attention. Those who were present in 2010 will undoubtedly remember the gobsmacking sets of Magnetic Man and Caspa. In the meantime the genre has found its way completely from the underground scene to the mainstream. At I Love Techno 2011 the hottest techno and electro producers will also be there.
